Pools need planning
Not only will it be a significant financial investment, the construction of your pool will take in the region of 3-4 months and so it is important to be prepared for this. Whilst outdoor swimming pools do not generally require planning permission (unless your home is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, located within a green belt, is a listed building or is within a conservation area) they are subject to building regulations and can also have an impact on your buildings insurance cover.
Other key things to consider are what to include in the wider landscaping remit. Space for ample seating, tanning ledges, lighting, planting schemes and, if space and budget permits, maybe even a pool house!
